Holiday Decorating Guidelines

Cemetery District Announcement – Holiday Season 2025

Riverview Cemetery District invites families and loved ones to honor those resting in our care by placing holiday decorations during the 2025 season. To maintain the dignity, safety, and beauty of the cemetery grounds, we ask that all decorations follow the district’s established guidelines.

🌟 Decoration Start Date

Holiday decorations may be placed beginning:
➡ December 15, 2025

Decorations placed before this date may be removed by cemetery staff to ensure maintenance and uniformity across the grounds.

🕯️ General Decoration Requirement

All floral and non-floral decorations must be placed only in cemetery-regulated vases.

To protect both visitors and maintenance staff, and to preserve the appearance of our cemetery, decorations must follow these rules:

✔️ Allowed Decorations

All decorations must fit fully inside a cemetery-regulated vase. Examples include:

  • Fresh flower arrangements
  • Artificial holiday flowers
  • Seasonal greenery (pine, holly, berry stems)
  • Small holiday picks or stems that fit securely inside the vase

All items must be properly secured to prevent them from blowing away or creating hazards.

❌ Decorations Not Allowed

To maintain safety and accessibility, the following items are not permitted:

  • Items placed directly on the ground
  • Freestanding decorations (stakes, fencing, signs, etc.)
  • Glass items, ceramics, candles, or open flames
  • Large or oversized holiday displays that do not fit in the vase

Any unapproved items may be removed by cemetery staff without notice.

🌿 Maintenance & Safety Guidelines
  • Decorations must not interfere with mowing, trimming, or routine groundskeeping.
  • Vases must remain accessible and unobstructed.
  • All decorations should be placed so they will not tip, blow over, or cause injury.

🗓️ Removal Date

Holiday decorations should be removed by January 9, 2026. Decorations left after this date will be removed and discarded by staff.
